SodaTide and Coffee: Can You Take the Capsule With Your Cup?

Quick answer

SodaTide and coffee are not linked on the label. The bottle says to take one capsule daily with an 8 oz. glass of water, and its Supplement Facts list no caffeine. So take the capsule with water, drink coffee as you normally would, and ask a clinician if coffee upsets your stomach.

The label01

Can you take SodaTide with coffee?

The label does not say. It names water only: "take one (1) capsule daily with an 8 oz. glass of water."

So the safest reading is the plain one. Use water for the capsule, then drink coffee when you like. We found no test of SodaTide with coffee, so we cannot say if coffee changes anything.

Caffeine02

Does SodaTide contain caffeine?

The label lists none. The three named lines are chicory root inulin 211 mg, potato resistant starch 100 mg and a probiotic blend of 36 mg.

The other ingredients are hypromellose, microcrystalline cellulose, magnesium stearate and silica. Caffeine is not on that list. NIH notes that some weight-loss labels leave caffeine out and many use proprietary blends. (NIH ODS, Dietary Supplements for Weight Loss (health professional)) We cannot test your bottle, so we only report what is printed.

Morning routine03

What is a simple morning routine with coffee and SodaTide?

Water first, capsule second, coffee after. The sales page prefers the morning before a meal; the label prints no time of day. See how to use.

  1. 01

Check the seal and your medicines

Read the caution on the label first. Ask a doctor or pharmacist if you take medicine.

  2. 02

Pour a full glass of water

The label says 8 oz. of water with the capsule. It names no other drink.

  3. 03

    Swallow one capsule

One is the daily serving. Do not add a second to make up for coffee.

  4. 04

    Then have your coffee

The label says nothing about coffee. Note how your stomach feels and tell a clinician if it is off.

Chicory coffee04

Does chicory coffee add to the inulin in SodaTide?

It can add inulin, because chicory is a source of it. Cleveland Clinic says the inulin in chicory coffee may lead to gas and belly bloating. (Cleveland Clinic, Coffee Alternatives (chicory))

The capsule line is 211 mg, about 0.2 g, and we could not confirm how much inulin a cup of chicory coffee holds. If you use both and feel bloated, drop one and ask a clinician. Read the ingredients page for the three named lines.

FAQ05

SodaTide questions people ask

Is it okay to take SodaTide and coffee together?

The label names an 8 oz. glass of water, so use water. We found no test of the capsule with coffee and cannot say it changes anything.

Is there caffeine in SodaTide?

The label we have lists no caffeine. Its three named lines are inulin, resistant starch and a probiotic blend. We could not test your bottle.

Will coffee make SodaTide cause gas?

We could not confirm it. Fermentable fibre can cause gas, and chicory coffee holds inulin too. Change one thing at a time and ask a clinician if it lingers.
